🥶 The ICE Merge

On Wednesday, we implemented The ICE Merge: a significant upgrade to ICE Poker’s reward system.

What’s The ICE Merge?

The ICE Merge is a new reward system for Challenge Mode that improves our in-game economy, attracts long-term players, and helps ICE Poker sustainably grow.

Here’s a quick summary:

Own a wearable? You’ll continue to earn $ICE by playing or lending out your wearable.
Borrowing a wearable? You'll now earn Banked ICE which you can use to redeem for prizes such as discounted wearables and Shine.

A New Era for ICE Poker

This marks a new era for ICE Poker: a sustainable gaming ecosystem built around player ownership.

The foundation of a great gaming ecosystem is now set with The ICE Merge, ICE Poker Flex, and Tournament Mode. We'll now be focusing on adding fuel to the fire with improved onboarding, new player acquisition, and polishing Flex gameplay.

👕 ICE Plague Wearable

Along with the new reward system, we released the ICE Plague wearable collection.

The ICE Plague is an All Access wearable that can only be claimed by playing Challenge Mode and redeeming Banked ICE.

✨ Super Shine Friday

We hosted our first Tournament Mode event: Super Shine Friday!

For 24 hours, all tournaments had increased Shine entry and badge rewards:

Entry: 9 Shine
1st Place: 9 badges

📊 ICE Burn Stats

ICE Burned from ICE Poker Flex: Tournament Mode

Super Shine Friday was our biggest $ICE burn yet — combined with The ICE Merge, our ecosystem’s daily burn-to-earn ratio was 1.06!

(A ratio greater than 1 means $ICE’s supply is reducing as more $ICE is being burned than emitted.)

Here are the stats:

Total Emissions = 1,284,453 $ICE
- 1,221,453 $ICE emitted from Challenge Mode
- 63,000 $ICE emitted from Tournament Badge redemptions
Total Burned = 1,359,500 $ICE
- 479,500 $ICE burned from players adding Shine
- 880,000 $ICE burned from players upgrading wearables

This week, we announced two Tournament wearable partnerships:

Akumu Dragonz

Both communities received custom ICE Poker Tournament wearables loaded with 9 Shine so their community members can instantly start playing for free.

PoolTogether is a crypto-powered prize savings account.

All current PoolTogether depositors on Polygon and Optimism received this custom Tournament wearable.

🏛 DG Hodler Roundtable

On Thursday, we held our monthly DG Hodler Roundtable.

The DG team provided development and marketing updates, as well as answered community questions around The ICE Merge.

Miles (CEO) attended TOKEN2049 and spoke on a panel discussing the future of the Metaverse and major trends that’ll drive the coming era.

🆕 ICE Poker Flex Onboarding Improvements

We’re adding new improvements to streamline onboarding and provide a better experience for new players.

Wearable Auto-Equip

We’ve added a feature to auto-equip Tournament wearables for new users, reducing the number of clicks and friction needed to start playing.

Credit Card Checkout

No crypto? No problem.

We’re simplifying the wearable buying process by adding a new credit card checkout option on the DG Marketplace.

This week, the team is continuing work on:

We’re working on streamlining new player onboarding and adding new features such as:

Multi-table support
Email log-in/wallet creation

Tournament Wearable Credit Card Checkout

We’re working on implementing a credit check-out option on the DG Marketplace.

We’ve successfully implemented it in our testing environment and can’t wait to get it live soon.

Metaverse Tournament Mode

We're patching the remaining gameplay bugs to prepare for a community alpha test.

💰 Financial

Treasury

Revenue

Decentral Games generated $48,037.28 in revenue last week.

ICE Buy

Last Monday, we bought 1.02M $ICE from protocol revenue and added it to the ICE-USDC pool:

Polygon validator node rewards — 3,800 $MATIC
Secondary sale royalties — 2.60 $WETH

Additionally, another 1.63M $ICE was burned by players buying Shine and Tournament wearables the previous week.

MANA Staking Rewards

MANA rewards for staking ICE are currently yielding 245% APR.
